Celebration of Greek mathematics
As part of our ongoing Greek Legacy project, supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, we are having a special event exploring the Greek Mathematicians on 7 March 2014.
For Sixth Formers, this is a day of interaction and discovery, from the astrolabe to the steam engine and from "Eureka" to "How did they do that?". We shall have talks on Euclid and Hypatia, we'll watch demonstrations of experiments first shown by Greek mathematicians/physicists/engineers and we'll discuss how the Greek Philosophers changed our understanding of proof. There will also be a drama presentation by students from Imperial College.
