Grants of up to £500 are being offered to eligible state-funded schools or academies in the UK to take part in an Enrichment and Enhancement (E&E) mathematics activity from the STEM Directories before July 2015.
For four years the Ri has been running E&E Grant Schemes for schools which have been unable, due to lack of funding, to host an activity led by a professional mathematician or scientist. The current scheme, which is generously supported by the Clothworkers' Foundation, is an exciting opportunity to host a mathematics E&E activity that can be a starting point for schools to integrate mathematics enrichment into classroom practice. A further E&E grant scheme will be announced in early 2015, which will be used to fund STEM activities more broadly.
STEM Grant Scheme opens in January 2015
A second E&E Grant Scheme, which is not limited to mathematics but can be used to fund any STEM activity listed in the Directories, will open in January 2015. The Scheme will be supported by the Causeway Foundation.

The Clothworkers' Foundation was set up by The Clothworkers' Company in 1977 and aims to improve the lives of people and communities, particularly those facing disadvantage.

The mathematics grant scheme is now open and the deadline for applications is Monday 24 November 2014 at 5pm. For more information and to apply, visit the STEM Directories website. Before applying, please ensure you have read the grant terms thoroughly, particularly the eligibility criteria and the guidance on what to include in your application. If you are successful, the grant will be paid directly to your chosen activity provider. Priority will be given to schools meeting certain criteria; please see the grant terms for more details.
The STEM Directories
The STEM Directories are a free resource for teachers to search for external providers to help supplement their classroom activities and they are managed by the Royal Institution.
If you are an activity provider, you can reigster to be listed in the STEM Directories. There is no charge to appear in the Directories.
