By sharing and uploading your submission (including any text and image material) you agree to grant the Royal Institution, free of charge, permission to use the material in any way it wants (including modifying and adapting it for operational and editorial reasons) for the Royal Institution services in any existing or future media worldwide (including on the Royal Institution’s website and social media accessed by international users) and in perpetuity.
You waive any moral rights in your contribution in order to permit the Royal Institution to edit your material as appropriate.
If you are under the age of 13, your parent or guardian must submit your design for you. If you are a parent entering on behalf of your child, you must include your own name in the submission in addition to your child’s.
If you are aged 13 or over but are under 18, then you must obtain your parent or guardian’s permission to submit your design.
All submissions deemed suitable by the Royal Institution will be shared on the ri-emoji.tumblr.com blog, though the Royal Institution reserves the right to make minor edits where needed for consistent format and style.
Any content submitted that is deemed offensive, abusive and/or to show illegal activity will be deleted and/or taken down immediately.
Content submitted must not include any photographic images of real people.
All content submitted must be the original work of the individual, organisation or company submitting it.
It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any content they submit does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.
All entrants are allowed to make multiple submissions.
We may share your first name and age alongside sharing your design, on this blog, our website, our social media, in the 2017 CHRISTMAS LECTURES and in any associated marketing materials.
Your data will be shared with marketing agency 89up, for the purposes of managing this ‘Design your Emoji’ project only.
Your email address will not be shared publicly, and will not be used for any purposes outside of this ‘Design your Emoji’ project.
When you submit your emoji design you must tick the box to say you have read and accept the Ri’s full terms and conditions.
