Applications for 2023 are now closed - but check back next year for a chance to stream the 2024 lectures.

We are excited to offer science centres, museums, and community centres around the UK the opportunity to host an event in partnership with the Ri to livestream the 2023 CHRISTMAS LECTURES directly from our Theatre.

The event will include behind the scenes shots of the programme as well as do-at-home activities, audience participation demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Filming will be live streamed from the Royal Institution’s iconic theatre on 12, 14 and 16 December, and broadcast on BBC Four between Christmas and New Year. If you are interested in becoming a partner livestream venue, please register your interest by clicking the button below.

The CHRISTMAS LECTURES are the world's leading science lectures for young people and have been inspiring children and adults alike since 1825. Initiated by Michael Faraday when organised education for children was scarce, the CHRISTMAS LECTURES established an exciting new way of presenting science to young people. We will host a full live theatre audience for the Christmas Lectures, and we would love your organisation to be involved in our livestreaming programme.

A record number of livestreaming venues in 2023

The Ri has set a target of 20 or more venues – exceeding the previous highest total of 18, set four years ago before the Covid-19 pandemic – with the first 16 locations already confirmed.
