Think maths is boring? Think again..! David Hall’s "Mathmagics!" is a high-energy, interactive show of jaw-dropping maths and fun.

What’s so amazing about maths? Find out in “Mathmagics!”, David Hall’s brilliant and hugely interactive show.

With his trademark energy and dynamism David will reveal some incredible maths facts, personalities, stories and tricks - from across the world and down the centuries.

If you think maths is boring, this is for you. If you love it already, it’s also for you!

Gasp at some astounding facts (and figures), delight in some incredible tricks and discover applications you never dreamed of. Maths and mathematicians will never be the same again!

Come prepared for fun, involvement, amazement and a Mathmagical day.

Event type

This is a theatre event for children and adults to enjoy together. All young people under the age of 13 need to be accompanied by a paying adult and those aged 4 and above need a ticket to attend.

By booking to attend events at the Royal Institution, you confirm that you have read and accept the Ri's event terms and conditions. You also agree to abide by our code of conduct, and help to create a great experience for yourself and your fellow participants. Please note that Eventbrite adds a small booking fee to the amount paid for each ticket option.

About the Speaker David Hall

Since 1996 David Hall has been entertaining, educating and astounding audiences with his hugely interactive one-man shows as Sir Isaac Newton, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and our very own Michael Faraday. Mathmagics soon followed - and he also regularly performs now as Samuel Pepys and designs and runs dynamic Shakespeare workshops and masterclasses across the UK.

When he’s not delivering these, he can be found training presenters and teaching Leadership Presence programs to executives and leaders around the world. 

He has a degree in chemistry, trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, has wide experience as a professional actor, voice-over and STEM presenter - and loves nothing more than inspiring future generations!

Timing

The doors will open at approximately 2.15pm, with a prompt start at 2.30pm.

Latecomers will be admitted into the gallery.

Accessibility

The event will take place on the first floor and there is step-free access from the street via lift.

The closest underground station is Green Park, which is step-free.

There is space at floor level in the theatre for wheelchair users.

Seating is usually unreserved for our events. If you and your group require seating reservations, please do let us know by emailing us at events@ri.ac.uk, and we’ll be more than happy to help.

Carers can receive a free ticket to an event by emailing events@ri.ac.uk.

Our theatre is equipped with an Audio Induction Loop.
