Kitchen science (matinee)

Discover how you can bring science out of the lab and into your own kitchen.

via Stephen Ashworth

Chemistry is all around us. It’s colourful, fun and sometimes explosive! Sometimes it feels like you can’t do many chemistry activities at home, but we’re here to show you that you can.

Join Stephen Ashworth for his entertaining and educational science show, Kitchen Chemistry. Stephen uses readily available chemicals and unsophisticated equipment to illustrate basic chemical principles.

Using materials available in supermarkets, pharmacies, or hardware stores, discover demonstrations that you and the family can reproduce, with sufficient care and attention, at home.

This event is particularly suitable for ages 7+.

Event type

This is a theatre event for children and adults to enjoy together. All young people under the age of 13 need to be accompanied by a paying adult and those aged 4 and above need a ticket to attend.

By booking to attend events at the Royal Institution, you confirm that you have read and accept the Ri's event terms and conditions. You also agree to abide by our code of conduct, and help to create a great experience for yourself and your fellow participants. Please note that Eventbrite adds a small booking fee to the amount paid for each ticket option.
