Comedy vs AI: Garrett Millerick's I, Robot

Can AI be funny? Join comedian Garrett Millerick as he takes on his AI clone in a unique live comedy experiment.

Garreett Millerick

In early 2026 Comedian Garrett Millerick started to question if the coming AI revolution would make his job obsolete. Rather than waiting to be swallowed by the whale on the horizon he decided it might be more fun to dive into the water and wrestle with it.

Partnering with AI expert JD Marsters and Steve McNeil (Wifi Wars) he performed a world first experiment at the Edinburgh Fringe 2026 doing nightly battle with an AI clone of himself, trained on his output from a fifteen year career in live comedy. The results of this experiment were fascinating, unexpected and slightly terrifying.

Armed with the data from that beta testing the team are excited to bring the next phase of their experiment to The Royal Institution. See it for yourself, discover the AI tech being used, and uncover important questions about how AI and art interact.

Garrett Millerick's I, Robot promises to be fascinating exploration of the frontiers of AI technology in a unique live comedy experiment.

Join Garrett, JD and Steve as they attempt to answer the tricky questions that have, as of yet, not troubled humanity… do clowns face extinction, is comedy binary and will Androids dream of Electric punchlines.

No live data from audience members will be captured during this event. However, by attending you are helping to lay the foundations for future planned events which will help scientifically explore the impact of AI on comedy.
