Wifi Wars

Have you ever wanted to play video games against 300 other people, while singing Christmas songs out loud? Well, you're in luck. Santa has come early and has given the Royal Institution the gift of gaming!

Join Steve McNeil and Rob Sedgebeer from WiFi Wars return for a very special festive spectacular where the whole audience will get to play on their World Record-breaking gaming technology. All you need is gaming enthusiasm and a charged phone or laptop to play along.

Let's see who can top the leaderboard at our next WiFi Wars!

All proceeds from ticket sales will be shared equally between Barts Charity and The Royal Institution.

Event type

This is a theatre only event where the speakers and audience are together in our Theatre.

About Wifi Wars

Steve McNeil and Rob Sedgebeer have come together to produce WiFi Wars, combining Steve's comedic and creative ideas with Rob's knowledge and aptitude with coding and designing games. They most recently featured in our 2022 CHRISTMAS LECTURES with Dame Sue Black, but first appeared at the Ri back in 2014. Since then they've performed shows at the Ri that have been so successful that even a Guinness World Record was broken (most people playing a single game of pong - we broke the previous record by 35 people!).

They return to the Ri for a special show to bring you comedy, computer science, technology and interaction so you can be a part of the development of new games and mass innovation.

Timing

Doors to the theatre will open at 6.45pm and the talk will begin at 7.00pm.
