Join the Ri’s Demonstrations team to explore the science of psychology and how your mind works, in this exciting hands-on workshop. Our brain is an intriguing part of the body, and is able to do amazing things, many of which we are not even aware are happening. Dive into your mind, and explore exciting questions like how our body knows where it is, how our brain understands what we see and more. The perfect workshop for curious minds!

This workshop is strictly for ages 7-8 only. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in this age range.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions. Please also note that Eventbrite adds a small booking fee to the amount paid for each ticket option.

About the Ri Demo Team

The Ri Demo Team are the people responsible for building all of the cool interactive science we have here. Most of their time is spent coming up with exciting ways to explore and explain science for our CHRISTMAS LECTURES, whether that is building a giant nose, or suspensing 3000 ping pong balls from the roof our lecture theatre. They also develop our Science in Schools shows, which are toured in schools all across the UK. Basically, is something cool and messy is going on in the building, they are usually the ones responsible.

Our Demo Team are excited to run workshops this summer, sharing the passion for hands on science with like-minded young people. They will show you some of their favourite demosntrations, get you hands-on with intriguing activities, and generally help you have fun exploring science.

About our workshops

Holiday workshops at the Royal Institution give students a hands-on experience of STEM topics (science, technology, engineering, maths) beyond what they learn at school. Working in groups or pairs, students will get hands-on to complete activities, challenges or projects which help them look deeper at the subject they are exploring. These workshops don’t follow the school curriculum but instead show students the many real world uses of STEM topics, expanding their horizons beyond the classroom to see the amazing possibilities science can give you. Sessions are led by experts from across industry and academia who will share with the students their excitement and knowledge of their areas of expertise.
