Sir Richard Catlow, Chair of the Royal Institution, pays tribute to Her Majesty The Queen

On behalf of the Trustees, Patrons, Members and staff of the Royal Institution, Sir Richard Catlow, Chairman of the Royal Institution, has today paid tribute to Her Majesty The Queen.

Sir Richard said: “It is with great sadness that we have received news, today, of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

“Her Majesty was Royal Patron of this Institution from her accession to the throne in 1952, and until 2016, under which patronage the Ri has successfully delivered against its mission to create opportunities for everyone to discover, discuss and critically examine science.

“It is with much pride and gratitude that we remember the unwavering support for the Royal Institution given by Her Majesty throughout her life.

“On behalf of the Trustees, Patrons, Members and staff of the Royal Institution, I would like to add my deepest condolences to His Majesty the King and all members of the Royal Family."
