Billed as ‘the best science demonstrators in the business’, Big Manny will be joined on stage by the Ri’s Science in Schools presenter Ted Hill, as they showcase some of their favourite science experiments and demonstrations.

It will mark a welcome return to the successful collaboration last year, in which Big Manny recreated Humphry Davy’s famous ‘Potassium volcano’, first demonstrated at the Ri in the early 19th century.

The collaboration has received over 3.5 million views across Big Manny’s and the Ri’s TikTok channels alone.

As the British Science Festival – a highlight of the British Science Association’s annual calendar of public engagement events – returns to London for the first time in over 20 years, Ted and Big Manny will appear at the Old Town Hall, Stratford, on Sunday 15 September.

As a TikTok sensation, sharing his experiments and demos to more than 1.8 million followers, we’ll hear from Big Manny about how he got into science and how he’s using his technical skills to bring science demos to new audiences, before he and Ted show how the Ri has been perfecting the science demonstration since Michael Faraday founded the CHRISTMAS LECTURES in 1825.

Tickets are free and available for booking via the Festival website. And please note, the show will include loud noises!
