Recruitment of ex-offenders
The Ri welcomes applications from a wide range of candidates, including those with criminal records. We select all candidates for interview based on their skills, qualifications and experience. Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us. This will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances and background of your offences.
We ask candidates for all positions to complete a convictions declaration. Where the role will entail working directly with children and young people, or provides unrestricted access to their data, the position will usually be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2013 and we will ask that all convictions which are not ‘protected’ are disclosed.
