Best friends and University Challenge stars Monkman and Seagull have been on a whistle stop tour of the greatest breakthroughs in science and technology since the Industrial Revolution.

Bobby Seagull will be here in the Ri exploring the exciting scientific stories covered in his new series of their BBC TV programme ‘Monkman & Seagull’s Genius Guide to Britain’.

Bobby will explore the various revolutionary developments and follow in the footsteps of the genius minds of British scientific history, from conquering mountains, to one of the unsung heroes of the industrial revolution - cement. A perfect evening of science and history enthusiasts alike!

About the speaker

Bobby Seagull became a cult star as a contestant on University Challenge in 2017. He is now an obsessive quiz enthusiast, secondary school maths teacher, a doctorate student researching maths anxiety at Cambridge University and a long-suffering West Ham fan.


The doors will open at approximately 5.30pm, with a prompt start at 6.00pm. There will be time for questions after the talk.

Latecomers will be admitted into the gallery.
