Embark on a journey of discovering the five platonic solids and their properties through a series of puzzles and games with Alison Eves.
In this workshop, students will help create platonic solids out of various materials, to explore questions like: Why are there only five platonic solids? Where do we find them in real life? What surprises are there in store for us?
Alison Eves is the Primary Mathematics Masterclass Coordinator at the Royal Institution. She has the fantastic job of supporting and growing the network of inspirational maths Masterclasses for primary children all around the country.
Alison is a qualified secondary maths teacher with a passion for sharing, with students of every age, her belief that maths is both incredibly beautiful and much more useful than most people ever realise, as well being both fun and fundamental for everyone.
This workshop is strictly for 7–9 year-olds. There will be a short break during the workshop and a drink and a small snack will be provided. Students should bring their own snack if they have any allergies.
