Mathematicians have been using computers for over half a century to provide answers to problems which require an enormous number of calculations, great accuracy and reliability.
In this workshop with Paul Hall, aimed at those students with no previous experience of C#, students will explore how computers can be used to do mathematics as they learn how to program simple games and take a nuts-and-bolts approach to solving a variety of problems.
Paul Hall teaches mathematics and computer science. He is an established Ri Mathematics Masterclass presenter giving regular sessions for students from year 9 up to sixth form students.
Please note, this workshop is strictly for 13–15 year-olds and is aimed at those with no experience of computer programming. Students will be using freely available programs throughout the workshop. The workshop will include a 45 minute supervised lunch break. Students will not be able to leave the building at lunch time unless permission is given at the time of booking.

Students should bring lunch and a drink, pens, pencils and a USB drive if they wish to take their work home. Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
Workshops are on the first floor of our building, for which there is step-free access from the street via lift.
The closest underground station is Green Park, which is step-free.
