Explore network theory, a branch of mathematics developed by the mathematician Euler, in this workshop with John Robinson.
Students will take a trip back in time to the 18th century, meeting Euler and taking a walk around the city of Konigsberg.
Through exciting hand-on actvities, discover the answer to questions such as ‘how does a postman avoid travelling down the same street twice?’.
John Robinson is a Mathematics teacher at the Pimlico Academy, and has delivered a number of Primary Masterclasses in the London area. He also now hosts a Primary Mathematics Masterclass series for students from local schools.
Please note, this workshop is strictly for 7–9 year-olds. There will be a short break during the workshop and a drink and a small snack will be provided. Students should bring their own snack if they have any allergies
The Mathematics Summer School workshops are based on Ri Mathematics Masterclasses. Students who have attended a Masterclass series which included a session on a similar topic may have already seen some of the content in this workshop. Please contact us on email@example.com with any questions.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
Workshops are on the first floor of our building, for which there is step-free access from the street via lift.
The closest underground station is Green Park, which is step-free.
Seating is usually unreserved for our events. If you and your group require seating reservations, or if you have any other questions, please do let us know by email and we’ll be more than happy to help. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
