Join the Ri’s Science Presenter Dan Plane and explore the science of psychology and how your mind works in this exciting hands-on workshop.
Our brain is an intriguing part of the body, and is able to do amazing things, many of which we are not even aware are happening.
In this perfect workshop for curious minds, students will explore exciting questions like: 'how does our body knows where it is?' and 'how does our brain understands what we see?'.
Dan Plane is a Science in Schools presenter for the Royal Institution and has worked in education for nearly 20 years. He's been a science communicator for the last eight years and his interest in all areas of science is ever growing.
Dan especially enjoys bringing fun and excitement to the demonstrations he has been creating and performing in science centres and schools across the UK.
Dan is all about getting everyone, kids and adults alike, to explore the past, present, and future of science, and is especially proud to be a part of the rich history of science communication here at the Ri.
This workshop is strictly for 7–9 year-olds. There will be a short break during the workshop and a drink and a small snack will be provided. Students should bring their own snack if they have any allergies.
Discounted tickets are available to Ri Members. Find out more about how to join.
This workshop is based on our ExperRimental video series, a series of short films that make it fun, easy and cheap to do science at home. Our films give you lots of ideas for kids’ activities that will help you explore the world around you, question and experiment together.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
Workshops are on the first floor of our building, for which there is step-free access from the street via lift.
The closest underground station is Green Park, which is step-free.
Seating is usually unreserved for our events. If you and your group require seating reservations, or if you have any other questions, please do let us know by email and we’ll be more than happy to help. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
