Event description

Take control of space for the day in this challenge-based workshop.

In the morning, students will explore the basics of the solar system and space travel, looking at current missions exploring space.

In the afternoon they will then design a mission to rescue an astronaut stranded on Mars, using what they have learned, and lots of ingenuity to make the mission a success.

About the speaker

Dr Stuart Eves has more than 30 years of international experience in satellite systems. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Astronomical Society and the British Interplanetary Society. In addition he is passionate about sharing his love of space.

Stuart  moonlights(!) as a GCSE Astronomy teacher, speaks to adults through organisations such as the U3A and Café Scientifique, and has recently become an Ri Masterclass presenter.
