How do you get your brilliant idea to the market? In this workshop with Mairi Macintyre and Yesim Kunter, budding entrepreneurs will learn that any new product development and launch, from smartphones to jet planes, involves all sorts of skills including design, planning, engineering and project management. Working in groups, they will aim to meet a project specification exactly in a set time and budget and will find out how a business can learn from the process so each new product launch gets better and better.
Mairi Macintyre is Principal Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick’s Manufacturing Group Group, which was set up to reinvigorate manufacturing, and is the course director for the MSc course Service Management and Design. She has also co–edited the Springer 2011 book 'Service Design and Delivery' which explores strategies used in the design and management of services across various sectors.
