Over the summer of 2014, the Bloomsbury Theatre, one of London’s most renowned venues for comedy and science entertainment, is busy getting a makeover.
So they are heading down to Mayfair for a night of demonstrations, talks and laughs as we channel the very best of what the Bloomsbury Theatre has to offer.
Sophie Scott is a Wellcome Trust senior fellow, researching the neuroscience of voices, speech, laughter, and is group leader of the speech communication neuroscience group at the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience.
Andrea Sella is Professor of Materials and Inorganic Chemistry at UCL where he studies synthesis and electronic structure of lanthanide complexes.
Hannah Fry is a lecturer in the mathematics of cities at the UCL Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis. Her current research looks at connections between mathematically described systems and human interaction at the largest scale.
Howard Read as a comedian and animator best known for his human/cartoon double act; Big Howard, Little Howard. He also co-organises The Santa Clause Science Experiment, an alternative panto that puts the Science back into Christmas.
Helen Arney is a presenter and geek songstress, and is one third of the Festival of the Spoken Nerd. She regularly performs her science-based comedy sets all over the UK.
