Digital Platform Manager
Liina is the Digital Platform Manager for the Ri, looking after the website, social platforms and all things digital.
Liina grew up in Estonia, dabbling in voice acting and television production before moving to the UK to study Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford. She joined the Royal Institution in 2014 via a rather circuitous route which among others involved managing a subtitling company, building a talent management department for a media company, and running the production arm of an online video platform dedicated to bringing philosophy to the masses.
As most kids I absolutely loved cartoons when growing up (actually still do!) but my all time favourites are The Why Why Family and The Magic School Bus. For me they had the perfect balance of science and entertainment, encouraging me to always be asking questions.
The Supersaturated Sodium Acetate demo.
The vast array of different projects happening at any one time both between teams and within. With a day that starts with 3D scanning a head and finishes with creating LED light graffiti, there is very little not to love.
