We’re very pleased to have a fantastic community of supporters for this year’s CHRISTMAS LECTURES, brought together by a shared interest in the biological sciences, and a passion for sharing the latest advances and discoveries in the field with a wide audience.

The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in human and animal health by supporting the brightest minds. They are supporting the development of the lectures, including the demonstrations and experiments that bring the science to life, as well as supporting Dr Alison Woollard to take part.

Cell Therapy Catapult is world-leading technology and innovation centre of excellence, set up to grow the UK cell therapy industry and to help businesses take innovative ideas through to commercialisation. They are bringing specialist technical support and advice to a number of the demonstrations.

Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) is the leading funding agency for academic research and training in the biosciences at universities and institutes throughout the UK. They are supporting the development of the advent calendar and the online discussion forum ‘I’m a scientist, get me out of here’.

The CHRISTMAS LECTURES have been a popular fixture of the festive period for more than 200 years and we are grateful to our generous supporters for helping us to share this tradition with a new generation of young scientists and their families in the UK and beyond.
