This workshop, developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency and the UCLan and Ri YSC in Preston, is a great introduction to programming.
After learning to program a Lego Mindstorms Mars rover, students are challenged to direct their rover across a Martian landscape and recognise a specific site using a colour sensor.
In the afternoon, students will have the opportunity to try out different sensors to complete challenges
This workshop will cover the basics of Lego Mindstorms and so is not recommended for students with an intermediate or advanced knowledge on this platform or similar.
This workshop is strictly for 13–15 year-olds only. Please note this workshop will include a 30 minute unsupervised lunch break. Please bring your own lunch and drink.
Discounted tickets are available to Ri Members. Find out more about how to join.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
