Event description

Stephen Ashworth returns to the Ri to serve up another helping of the science of the everyday. He will show how normal items can be seen in a new light to illustrate principles of chemistry. Find out what links washing up liquid, a sports drink and the battery in your mobile phone in this second energetic exploration of the chemicals that surround us.

This talk is particularly suitable for ages 7+.

About the speaker

Stephen Ashworth is a chemist at the University of East Anglia with a strong interest in public engagement and making science accessible to children and families. His first talk at the Ri went so well that he's been invited back to amaze, astonish and enlighten us again.
