Does it ever feel like you’re always losing at some of your favourite games? Ever looked to see if there was something you could do differently to win? Well, look no further! In this session with Rufus Roberts students will look at representing games mathematically, see how nature plays these games and most importantly of all, playing the games and finding out how to win!
Rufus Roberts has a degree in Mathematics. He has been making mathematics fun for the past five years with a mixture of magic and hands–on activities. Now as managing director of Maths Blast Ltd. he and his team take investigative and interactive mathematics into East Midland primary schools as afterschool clubs. Rufus believes that mathematics should be accessible to all and loves getting involved with projects that do that.
This workshop is strictly for 7–9 year–olds. There will be a short break during the workshop and a drink and a small snack will be provided. Students should bring their own snack if they have any allergies.
Mathematics Summer School workshops are based on Ri Masterclasses. Students who have attended a Masterclass series which included a session on a similar topic may have already seen some of the content in this workshop. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least one week (seven calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
The Potential Trust may be able to offer financial assistance to enable children to participate in Ri events and activities if this would otherwise be difficult. Please contact Anna Comino–James on 01844 351666 or email her at email@example.com.
