membership

The general rise of public interest in all things scientific is reflected by the consistent growth of Ri membership. As science-related matters feature daily in the media and our lives, more and more people from all ages and backgrounds are becoming engaged in serious scientific debate and discussion by becoming members of the Ri. We depend on our members’ support to enable us to continue our activities and pursue our objective, the ‘dissemination of science’ to the general public.

Who can join?

Membership of the Ri is open to everyone. You do not need to have a science qualification nor a scientific background. There are no formal pre-requisites for joining the Ri and no nomination process. All we ask is that you share our passion and enthusiasm for science and scientific debate and support our programme of events, so that it may continue to expand.

What are the benefits?

By joining the Ri you will become a member of an exciting and expanding organisation that is rapidly setting the standard as a London centre for vibrant scientific debate. The Ri presents an open, non-biased forum where you can listen to and engage with experts and other like-minded individuals in scientific debate, and offers the facilities to develop your personal or professional understanding of science.

Benefits include free entry to Friday Evening Discourses, discounted entry to all other public events and invitations to Members’ Social Events.

How can I apply?

Have a look through the Membership Categories, select the appropriate one, then complete and return the application form with required payment. On receipt of your application we will process it as quickly as possible and you will be able to take advantage of membership benefits immediately.

If you have any queries, please contact the Membership Team on members@ri.ac.uk or telephone 020 7670 2940.
