Explore subjects in depth with world-class researchers at the Ri.
Aimed at anyone who would like to explore a subject in more depth than a one-off talk, but not as formal as a university course, the Ri's science short courses promise to provide you with access to world-class researchers in a social atmosphere to explore some of the most fascinating topics in science.
Each course typically lasts for six, 90 minute sessions, with refreshments provided. Courses are primarily for interest and there is no formal examination at their conclusion.
The courses cost £225 (£190 members) for a six session course, or less for shorter courses.
Upcoming Short Courses will be listed on the What's On calendar when they become available.
We currently have two course available.
An introduction to genetics: Dr Lawrence Bellamy presents a repeat of his six-part short course introducing the amazing world of genetics.
An introduction to cosmology 2018: Prof Malcolm Fairbairn of King’s College London will try to explain how cosmologists try to answer questions about our peculiar Universe.
