Spring Masterclass Series

Rachel has had a busy spring term running Masterclasses at Imperial College and London Metropolitan University with 90 students attending. In addition, we have had Engineering Masterclass series running at the Paper Trail in Apsley, Hertfordshire, and at Warwick University. The Masterclass series at Trinity School in Croydon has got off to a good start in the run up to Easter – three of the six classes are now completed and the last three classes will run throughout the early weeks of the summer term. All in all, we have had around 210 students attending these series.

We have had fantastic support from all the teachers attending from nominated schools, so a big thank you to them. In addition, we have had a brilliant team of engineers taking time out of their busy lives to deliver the classes. Building on the existing team of engineers, we have recruited six new London-based engineer speakers, and many more at other UK locations.

New Masterclass groups

We are looking forward to getting at least three new Engineering Masterclass series up and running in the summer term – Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, Oxfordshire; UTC Central Bedfordshire, Dunstable; and Dr Challoner’s Grammar School, Amersham.

Engineering Celebration Event

We are also looking forward to our engineering celebration day on 5 July. We are inviting all students who have attended an Engineering Masterclass this academic year, along with one parent, to join us for this special day. The Celebration Event will include a selection of talks and demonstrations from Masterclass speakers and practicing engineers.
