Luke AW Green obtained his MChem with a Year in Europe degree from the University of York in 2008. After a short spell working at a hospital biochemistry department, he is now studying for a PhD under the guidance of Dr Nguyen TK Thanh at UCL and the Royal Institution. He specialises in the synthesis of nanoparticles with application in biomedicine. He feels that the work that is done at the DFRL, and indeed the work that has already been done here over the last 200 years, has contributed to the health and wellbeing of society. He feels humbled to work at such a historical location and to be part of such important cutting edge research. Outside of studying for his PhD, he likes rock climbing, SCUBA diving, long distance hiking, growing his own vegetables... essentially, anything outside in the fresh air.
