Talk info
Jungle Jo's biodiversity - Jungle Jo
An introduction to Biodiversity by Jungle Jo. Meet and maybe handle some of the different animals that we share our planet with. With some great facts and live animal interaction learn just how diverse they are.
A Guide to Parenting, Animal Style! - Dr Ed Sykes
How should animals breed to beat natural selection? Should they breed like rabbits or go slow and steady like elephants? Should they stay as a boy or girl or swap as they go along? Or should they even be having sex at all...? Come and hear about the bizarre lifestyles of all your favourite (and not so favourite) animals and maybe get a few ideas for your own!
Parents and Guardians should be aware that this fascinating lecture will contain reference to sexual intercourse and reproductive anatomy. We would recommend a minimum age of 7 years old and stipulate that children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult to provide parental guidance.
If you still have some time left over from all the fun, why not take an interactive tour of our exhibition using our hand held eGuides? They're free, fun and easy to use and will give you a glimpse into the wonders of the Ri, past and present.
Family Fun Day activities are suitable for 5-14 year olds though everyone is welcome. Tickets costs £5 for adults and £3 for under 18s. Entrance for Faraday Members and under 3s is free. Ri Members are entitled to bring two accompanying children free. Free tickets can only be booked by calling the Events Team on 020 7409 2992.
