- Lecturers: Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A MEMBERS ONLY EVENT
Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock is a working space scientist who develops instruments that help to monitor climate change. In this discourse she will look at global warming from a whole new angle and explore how space can make science count in the battle against climate change. Dr Aderin-Pocock will give an overview of some of the evidence showing how our climate is changing and set up practical experimentation to show how climate change works and ask the questions: What can past, current and future space instrumentation tell us about climate change and how we monitor it? How can recent missions launched by ESA and NASA and satellites help us with disaster monitoring? What can some of the other planets in our solar system tell us about the future of planet Earth?
Tickets for this event entitle you to one complimentary drink at the post-event reception. Please exchange your ticket for a drinks voucher on arrival. If you would like any further refreshments, please do visit our new restaurant and bar where members are entitled to a 10% discount.
