Whether we want to improve education or cut crime, to enhance public health or to generate clean energy, science is critical. Yet politics and public life too often occupy a science-free zone. In his recent agenda-setting book, The Geek Manifesto, Mark Henderson argued that science should be central to government policy making. Now hear him, in conversation with the Times' David Aaronovitch, talk about the progress of his campaign, including sending a copy of his book to all 650 MPs.

Tickets: £10 standard, £7 concessions and £5 Associates. Members go free.

Make a night of it! Come for a cocktail or something delicious, modern and British to eat in the bar. The bar and café at the Ri has the perfect atmosphere for a night out.
