- Wednesday 23 January 2013
- 7.00pm to 8.30pm
- Lecturers: Mark Thompson
To the untrained eye, the star-filled sky at night can seem as mysterious and unfathomable as it was to our distant ancestors. Learning about the Universe requires two distinct areas of focus: understanding the physical nature of the processes and objects amongst the stars and the ability to find objects and navigate around the sky.
In this event, astronomer and TV presenter Mark Thompson combines these two areas in a unique and engaging way, taking you on the same journey that has taken mankind thousands of years.
Tickets: £10 standard, £7 concessions and £5 Associates. Members go free.
Make a night of it! Come for a cocktail or something delicious, modern and British to eat in the bar. The bar and café at the Ri has the perfect atmosphere for a night out.
