Mike Hoyland started developing chemistry shows for the public in 2001 whilst he was employed by the University of Leeds as Demonstrations Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry. The University wanted someone to be their ‘public face of science', to encourage people of all ages, but especially children, to take an active interest in science subjects.
From this, Mike created an exciting and virtually unique lecture which included dozens of spectacular experiments and demonstrations, to present live to audiences of all ages all over the country. Mike took early retirement from Leeds University in August 2005, and has been amazing audiences with his chemistry shows ever since!
