Dr Kevin Fong


Kevin Fong is a Wellcome Trust Engagement Fellow and a consultant anaesthetist at University College London Hospital.  He holds degrees in medicine, astrophysics and engineering.

Kevin is an honorary senior lecturer in physiology at University College London and is founder and associate director of the Centre for Altitude, Space and Extreme environment medicine.

He has completed specialist training in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine and has worked with NASA’s Human Adaptation and Countermeasures Office at Johnson Space Centre in Houston.

More recently Kevin has presented several science documentaries including To Boldly Go (BBC2 - 2012), Space Shuttle: The Final Mission (2011), Back from the Dead (2011) and How to Mend a Broken Heart (2010).  His recent work for radio broadcast includes a BBC World Service programme about SETI and the Drake Equation, and a Frontiers documentary about new anti-viral agents.  He is currently reccording the BBC Radio 4 series "Scott's Legacy"
