Elected Trustee – May 2016
Louise brings to the Board extensive expertise in corporate communications and reputation building. She was communications director for The Coca-Cola Company and the L'Oréal Group at executive committee level where she was responsible for external and internal communications, including media and government relations and issues management. A key objective for L’Oréal was to strengthen the reputation of its scientific research and build relationships with the scientific community. Louise was a Trustee and Deputy Chair of Save the Children for ten years and she is currently a governor of a girls' secondary school. Both these roles have reinforced her belief in the importance of inspiring young people and encouraging them to set high aspirations.
She has worked on several projects in partnership with the Royal Institution including L'Oréal's flagship ‘For Women in Science’ and in 2009 as part of L'Oréal’s Centenary celebrations, the creation of the L’Oreal Young Scientist Centre at the Royal Institution with the aim to open the eyes of children to an exciting world of science beyond the school curriculum.
