The Royal Institution will join museums and galleries from across the UK and Europe for Twitter's first ever #MuseumWeek, a project that aims to connect people to artwork, culture, history and science in new and interactive ways, running from Monday 24 March until Sunday 30 March.

Follow @ri_science as we continue to bring to life our 215 years of public engagement with science and ground-breaking discoveries with a week packed full of quizzes, blogs, live Twitter chats, video content from the Ri Channel, interactive timelines and previously unseen material from our archives.

You'll be able to discover what Ri scientist or speaker you're most like in our personality quiz with a twist, get a sneak peek behind the scenes at our Faraday Museum, share your memories of past CHRISTMAS LECTURES and much more.

We'll also be kicking off the week with a FREE lunchtime talk by our Professor of the History of Science Frank James 'Science and society at the Royal Institution since 1799' in our famous lecture theatre on Monday 24 March at 12pm.

If you can't make the talk, we'll be hosting a live Twitter chat (#AskTheCurator) with Frank on Friday 28 March from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Test his knowledge on the lives and work of all the incredible men and women associated with the Ri since 1799, such as Faraday, Tyndall, Davy, the Braggs, Dewar, Lonsdale, Porter, Hodgkin, Johnson and more.

Other UK organisations who have also signed up to #MuseumWeek include the Natural History Museum (@NHM_London), the Victoria and Albert Museum (@V_and_A), the British Museum (@britishmuseum), Eureka! The National Children's Museum (@eurekamuseum) and the Tate (@Tate).

A full list of participating UK organisations can be viewed here.
